Keramikaren på Stord har følgt galleriet i nesten alle år. Første utstillinga var allereie på Snikkeriet i 1998. Fast leverandør til galleributikken. Alltid noko nytt i kvar sending – men med ein heilt klar «signatur». Det kjennes difor heilt naturleg at Vikene no skal fylla begge etasjane i galleriet i Guddal. Også Stallen som er eit eige lite utstillingslokale i tunet.
Etter endt utdanning ved Statens Høgskole for Kunsthåndverk og Design i Bergen 1988, flytta ho til Stord og bygde verkstad på Ådland.
Der arbeidar ho for det meste med høgtbrendt steingods og litt porselen.
Kunstnaren brukar også tre, glas, plast og metall.
Vikene likar å jobba i både små og store format, og er oppteken av mønster, farge, bevegelse og form. Leira har uendelege moglegheiter og store begrensingar!
Ho elskar utfordringane i materialet. Noko de vil sjå i utstillinga.
M.a. svært store og skulpturelle arbeid. I tillegg til mindre meir bruksvenlege ting.
Arbeida hennar har ofte ein tittel som antyder kva ho vil formidla, men ho likar godt når andre ser noko som ho ikkje har tenkt på. «Det er så kjekt når nokon heilt ærleg liker det eg har laga. Då føler eg meg priviligert som får lov til å ha dette yrket!».
